Definition

Ethnic enclaves are neighborhoods or areas often populated by people from similar ethnic backgrounds who share common cultural traits.

Analogy

Imagine your school cafeteria where everyone sits at tables with their friends - you have jocks sitting together, nerds sitting together etc., each table is like an ethnic enclave but instead of sharing interests they share ethnicity or culture.
