The Encyclopedia Britannica is a general knowledge English-language encyclopedia which was first published in Scotland in 1768. It has been revised regularly since then with new editions reflecting advancements in various fields.
Encyclopedia: A book or set of books giving information on many subjects or on many aspects of one subject and typically arranged alphabetically.
Reference Work: A work such as a dictionary or encyclopedia providing information on specific topics usually presented systematically.
Digital Encyclopedia: An online database that provides comprehensive information on an array of topics, similar to a print encyclopedia.
