Contraception is any method used primarily to prevent pregnancy. These methods include hormonal pills or devices (like IUDs), barrier methods (like condoms), emergency contraception ("morning-after" pills), permanent methods (like vasectomy or tubal ligation), etc.
Contraception is like an alarm system for your house - it helps prevent unwanted "visitors" (in this case pregnancies). Different types offer different levels of protection just like some alarms only cover doors while others cover windows too.
Birth Control Pill: A daily pill that contains hormones which change how body works and prevent pregnancy.
Intrauterine Device (IUD): A small, T-shaped device inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy.
Barrier Methods: These are types of contraceptive that attempt to prevent pregnancy by physically preventing sperm from entering the uterus.
