Representative Sample

Definition

A representative sample is a subset of individuals selected from a larger population that accurately reflects its characteristics and diversity.

Analogy

Think of representative sampling like taking samples from different slices of pizza at a party. If you want an accurate representation of how good the pizza is overall, you need to make sure you sample from all the different slices, not just one or two.
