Definition
Greetings are the words or actions used to acknowledge and welcome someone when you meet them. They are a way to show politeness and respect.
Analogy
Greetings are like the opening scene of a movie. Just as the first few minutes set the tone for the entire film, greetings set the tone for any interaction with another person.
