Día de los Inocentes / Santos (Day of the Innocents/All Saint's Day)

Definition

Día de los Inocentes, also known as Day of the Innocents, is a holiday celebrated in many Spanish-speaking countries on December 28th. It is similar to April Fools' Day in English-speaking countries, where people play pranks and jokes on each other. All Saint's Day, or Día de los Santos, is a religious holiday celebrated on November 1st to honor all saints.

Analogy

Imagine if April Fools' Day and Halloween had a baby - that would be Día de los Inocentes and Día de los Santos! Just like how people play tricks on April Fools', this day is all about having fun with harmless pranks. And just like how Halloween honors the spirits of the dead, All Saint's Day pays tribute to all the saints.
