The RAVEN template is a framework used in AP Seminar to analyze and evaluate sources. It stands for Reputation, Ability to Observe, Venue, Expertise, and Neutrality. This template helps students critically assess the credibility and reliability of sources.
Think of the RAVEN template as a detective's toolkit. Just like a detective uses different tools to solve a case, the RAVEN template provides students with specific criteria to investigate and determine the trustworthiness of sources.
Reputation: The reputation of a source refers to its standing or credibility within a particular field or community.
Ability to Observe: The ability to observe refers to how well the source can directly witness or gather information about an event or phenomenon.
Venue: Venue refers to the context or platform where information is presented or shared.
