Definition

The WAIS is an IQ test designed to measure intelligence and cognitive ability in adults and older adolescents.

Analogy

Consider WAIS as your GPS system. Just like how GPS helps you navigate through unknown territories by providing directions based on your current location, WAIS helps psychologists understand an individual's mental capabilities by comparing their scores with others in their age group.
