Definition

These are mental health disorders characterized by abnormalities in perceptions or expressions of reality, often involving hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking and speech.

Hallucination: This is when someone perceives something that isn't present in reality. It could involve any of the five senses.

Delusion: A firmly held belief that is not based in reality. Despite evidence to the contrary, people with delusions hold onto these beliefs strongly.

Disorganized Thinking:

This refers to disjointed and incoherent thought processes usually detected by what a person says.
