Definition

Respondent behavior refers to reactions that are automatically elicited by certain stimuli without any conscious decision-making process involved.

Analogy

It's like when someone suddenly throws a ball at you - you instinctively put up your hands to catch it or block it from hitting your face. You didn't think about doing this; it was an automatic respondent behavior!
