Definition

A view that explains personality in terms of conscious and unconscious forces, such as unconscious desires and beliefs.

Analogy

Consider psychodynamic approach like an iceberg. What we see above water (conscious mind) is only a small part of the whole structure, while the majority (unconscious mind) is hidden beneath the surface.
