Projective Tests

Definition

Projective tests are personality assessments that present ambiguous stimuli with the aim of revealing hidden emotions and internal conflicts projected by an individual.

Analogy

Think about looking at clouds and seeing different shapes or images. What you see isn't really there in the cloud; it's something your mind projects onto it based on your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. That's what projective tests do - they use ambiguous images or situations to reveal what's going on inside someone's mind.
