Overlearning refers to the practice of continuing to study and learn material even after it has been initially mastered.
Think of overlearning like adding extra layers of paint on a wall. The first layer (or initial learning) covers the wall, but additional layers (overlearning) make the color more vibrant and long-lasting.
Spaced Repetition: This is a learning technique that involves increasing intervals of time between subsequent review of previously learned material in order to exploit the psychological spacing effect.
Mastery Learning: A method where students must achieve a level of mastery in prerequisite topics before moving forward to learn subsequent information.
Distributed Practice: A strategy where practice is broken up into a number of short sessions - over a longer period of time.
