Nonconscious processes refer to any mental process that goes on in which the individual is unaware and which he/she cannot become aware even with introspection.
Imagine nonconscious processes like background apps running on your smartphone. You don't see them working directly on your screen (awareness), but they're still functioning behind-the-scenes impacting battery life (behavior).
Automatic Processing: This involves information processing requiring little effort or attention like reading words on a sign while driving.
Parallel Processing: This is when multiple streams of information can be processed at once without interference such as recognizing shapes and colors simultaneously when looking at an image.
Priming: Priming occurs when exposure to one stimulus influences how we respond to another stimulus without being aware that the first stimulus has guided our response.
