Motor (Efferent) Neurons

Definition

Motor neurons, also known as efferent neurons, carry information from the central nervous system to muscles and glands causing them to contract or secrete substances respectively.

Sensory (Afferent) Neurons: These neurons carry information from sensory receptors towards the central nervous system.

Interneurons:

Located within CNS, they process information between sensory inputs and motor outputs.

Neuromuscular Junctions: These are synapses between a motor neuron and a muscle fiber allowing for signal transmission.
