Definition

Exhaustion refers to the third and final stage of the General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS), a theory proposed by Hans Selye. It is characterized by a depletion of resources in the body after prolonged exposure to stress, leading to increased vulnerability to physical and psychological disorders.
