Crowding Effect

Definition

The crowding effect refers to decreased performance or discomfort caused by perceived high density or number of people within an environment.

Analogy

Picture yourself at your favorite band's concert. At first, being surrounded by other fans is exciting. But as more and more people pack into the venue, it starts to feel too crowded. You might even start feeling uncomfortable or anxious - that's the crowding effect.
