Cognitive distortions are irrational and inaccurate thought patterns that can negatively impact a person's perception of reality. They involve automatic negative thoughts and biases, leading to cognitive errors.
This is the tendency to seek out information that confirms our preexisting beliefs while ignoring evidence that contradicts them.

Catastrophizing: This refers to magnifying small problems or failures and imagining the worst-case scenarios.
