Cause and effect is a relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other. This is a combination of action and reaction.
Think of cause and effect like dominoes falling. When you push the first domino (the cause), it leads to a chain reaction where all the other dominoes fall down (the effect).
Dependent Variable: The outcome factor in an experiment that may change in response to manipulations of the independent variable.
Independent Variable: The experimental factor that is manipulated; it's what influences or changes the dependent variable.
Correlation: A measure that describes the extent of relationship between two variables; however, it does not imply causation.
