Bipolar Disorder

Definition

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition marked by extreme mood swings from high (mania) to low (depression).

Think of bipolar disorder like a roller coaster ride. The highs are periods of mania where you feel invincible and full of energy - like being at the top of the roller coaster. The lows are periods of depression where you feel hopeless and drained - similar to plunging down into a deep valley on the ride.
