Biochemical influences refer to how various chemical substances such as hormones and neurotransmitters affect our behavior, mood, and overall mental health.
Imagine your body is like a car engine. Just like how different fluids (oil, coolant) are needed for smooth operation of an engine; biochemicals like hormones & neurotransmitters are required for proper functioning of our body & mind.
Neurotransmitters: Chemical messengers that transmit signals across a synapse from one neuron to another neuron or cell.
Hormones: Chemical substances produced in your body that send messages through your bloodstream to other cells causing certain physiological activities to occur.
Endocrine System: A system of glands throughout our body that produce hormones.
