A chronic mental condition where a person consistently shows disregard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others.
Think of ASPD like driving a car without brakes. Just as brakes help control the speed and direction of the car ensuring safety for all on road; empathy helps control our actions ensuring we respect others' rights and feelings. In ASPD, just like a car without brakes can cause accidents; individuals without empathy can hurt others without remorse.
Empathy: The ability to understand another person's feelings from their point of view.
Remorse: Deep regret or guilt for wrongdoing.
Conduct Disorder (CD): A serious behavioral and emotional disorder in children and teens that involves violating the basic rights of others or breaking societal norms/rules.
