Definition
In psychology terms, functions refer to what different parts of our brains do or control in our bodies - from basic survival instincts to complex cognitive processes.
These are mental processes that help us gather knowledge and comprehend it. They include reasoning ability, memory retention, attention span etc.
Motor Functioning: These are controlled by various structures in our nervous system which coordinate together to perform all types of movements.
Sensory Functioning: These involve five senses (sight, hearing, smell taste touch) which provide data for perception- our conscious awareness of world around us based on sensory input from body's receptors.
