Definition
A line of charge refers to a distribution of electric charge that is concentrated along an infinitely long, straight line.
Analogy
Imagine a long, thin wire with evenly spaced beads threaded onto it. Each bead represents a small amount of charge. The line of charge is like the wire with the beads, where the charges are aligned in a linear fashion.
