Definition

Electric field strength represents the intensity or magnitude of an electric field at a particular point in space. It quantifies the force experienced by a positive test charge placed in the electric field.

Analogy

Imagine you are standing near a powerful waterfall. The strength of the water flow hitting your body depends on how close you are to the waterfall. Similarly, electric field strength measures how strong the "flow" of electric forces is at different points in space.
