Rhythms refer to patterns created by different durations (lengths) and accents (emphasis) given to musical notes and rests.
Think about rhythms as dance moves. Just like dancers have specific patterns they follow with different steps and accents, musical rhythms have patterns with different note durations and accents.
Tempo: Tempo refers to the speed or pace of a piece of music.
Syncopation: Syncopation occurs when an accent is placed on a weak beat or between beats, creating an unexpected rhythmic emphasis.
Time Signature: A time signature indicates the number of beats in each measure and which note value represents one beat.
