Definition

Polyrhythm occurs when two or more rhythms are played simultaneously. Each rhythm has its own distinct pattern and pulse.

Analogy

Picture yourself juggling two balls with one hand while tapping your foot to a different beat. That's what polyrhythm is like - multiple rhythms happening at once but still maintaining their individuality.
