Definition
Tension refers to the feeling of suspense, uncertainty, or anticipation created by conflicting forces within a literary work. It keeps readers engaged and eager to find out what will happen next.
Analogy
Picture yourself on a roller coaster ride slowly climbing up before reaching its peak. The tension builds as you anticipate the thrilling drop that lies ahead.
