Doshakuzure refers to a landslide or the collapse of earth and rocks on a slope. It occurs when the stability of the slope is compromised, often due to heavy rain or earthquakes.
Imagine building a sandcastle at the beach. If you pour water on it too quickly, the sand will start to slide down and collapse. This is similar to what happens during a doshakuzure.
Jishin (地震): Jishin means earthquake. It refers to the shaking of the ground caused by tectonic plates shifting beneath the Earth's surface.
Kōzui (洪水): Kōzui translates to flood. It describes an overflow of water onto normally dry land, often caused by heavy rainfall or melting snow.
Yosai (予測): Yosai means prediction. In relation to doshakuzure, it refers to efforts made by scientists and experts to forecast potential landslides based on geological data and weather conditions.
