Stratified Sampling

Definition

Stratified sampling is a method of selecting a sample from a population in which the population is divided into subgroups or strata, and then a proportionate number of individuals are randomly selected from each stratum. It ensures that the sample represents various characteristics or attributes of the population.

Analogy

Imagine you're baking cookies for your friends. Instead of just randomly grabbing cookies from the oven, you strategically choose an equal number of chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and sugar cookies to represent everyone's preferences.
