Definition

Individual autonomy refers to the capacity of a person to make decisions and act according to their own values and beliefs, free from external control or coercion.

Analogy

Think of individual autonomy like being the captain of your own ship. You decide where it goes, how fast it sails, and what course it takes. No one else can steer your ship for you.
