Equality

Definition

Equality means ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to make the most out of their lives and talents; it's about treating people fairly and equally regardless of their differences.

Analogy

Imagine you're baking cookies for your friends. Equality would mean making sure each friend gets an equal number of cookies, regardless if one friend likes chocolate chip more than another who prefers oatmeal raisin.

Equal Protection Clause: This part of the 14th Amendment says that states must provide equal protection under law to all people within their jurisdiction – similar to our cookie rule applying equally to all friends.
