The Department of State is the federal executive department responsible for international relations and foreign policy matters.
Think of the Department of State as a school's guidance counselor. Just like how a guidance counselor helps students navigate their relationships with other students, teachers, and parents, the Department of State manages America's relationships with other countries.
Diplomacy: The practice of conducting negotiations between representatives of states or groups, aimed at resolving conflicts or strengthening relationships.
Foreign Policy: A government's strategy in dealing with other nations.
Ambassador: An official envoy or representative who acts on behalf of their home country while abroad.
