Ambassadors are the highest-ranking diplomats sent by one country to another. They represent their home country's interests abroad and work on diplomatic relations.
Think of ambassadors as the "team captains" in a game between countries. Just like a team captain, they communicate with the other side, make strategic decisions, and represent their team (or in this case, their country) to the best of their ability.
Diplomacy: The practice of conducting negotiations between countries or groups.
Foreign Policy: A government's strategy in dealing with other nations.
Consulate: A place where a government representative resides to assist its citizens in that foreign country.
