A byte is a unit of digital information that consists of 8 bits. It can represent a single character or a small amount of numerical data.
Imagine a byte as a tiny container with 8 compartments, each compartment representing a bit. Just like you can fill each compartment with different items, you can fill each bit in a byte with either 0 or 1.
Bit: The smallest unit of digital information, representing either a 0 or a 1.
Kilobyte: A unit of digital information equal to 1024 bytes.
Megabyte: A unit of digital information equal to 1024 kilobytes.
