Lacquerware refers to objects made from wood or other materials coated with layers of lacquer (a natural resin). The lacquer coating not only adds a glossy finish but also provides durability and protection for the object.
陶瓷(táo cí)- Ceramics: Ceramics are objects made from clay that are shaped and fired at high temperatures. While different in material, both lacquerware and ceramics involve craftsmanship and artistic techniques.
珐琅(fá láng)- Enamel: Enamel is a decorative technique where powdered glass is fused onto metal or other surfaces through high heat. It shares similarities with lacquerware in terms of adding a glossy finish and vibrant colors to objects.
雕刻(diāo kè)- Carving: Carving involves cutting or shaping materials such as wood, stone, or ivory to create intricate designs or sculptures. Lacquerware can also feature carved patterns or reliefs on its surface.
