Definition

Quantitative analyses of equilibrium involves measuring and using numerical data to describe the state at which the rate of forward reaction equals that of its reverse in a chemical process.

A number obtained from mathematical calculations based on concentrations at equilibrium. It gives us an idea about relative amounts reactants vs products at equilibrium.

Reaction Quotient (Q):

Similar to K but calculated with initial concentrations before reaching equilibrium. It helps predict which direction a reaction will proceed towards.
