Nitrogen Dioxide

Definition

Nitrogen dioxide is a reddish-brown gas with a characteristic sharp, biting odor and is one of several nitrogen oxides. This toxic gas is an important air pollutant and is the primary source of nitrate pollution in the atmosphere.
