Methyl red is another pH indicator used for identifying pH values on the lower end of the scale. It appears red in pH under 4.4 and yellow over 6.2.
Imagine methyl red as your car's fuel gauge. When your tank is full (or when the solution is acidic), the gauge reads full (red). As you use up fuel and approach empty (or when the solution becomes less acidic), the gauge moves towards empty (yellow).
Neutralization Reaction: A chemical reaction between an acid and a base which results in water and salt.
Buffer Solution: A solution that resists changes in pH when small amounts of an acid or base are added.
Acidity Constant(Ka): The equilibrium constant for an acid dissociation reaction.
