The free energy change, represented by ΔG, is a measure of the spontaneity or feasibility of a chemical reaction. It indicates the direction in which a reaction will proceed and whether it is exergonic (ΔG < 0) or endergonic (ΔG > 0).
A reaction that occurs naturally without needing an input of energy from its surroundings. It has a negative ΔG value.
Enthalpy (H): The heat content or total energy of a system. It includes both internal energy and pressure-volume work done by the system on its surroundings.
