Endentropic Reaction

Definition

An endentropic reaction refers to reactions where there is a decrease in entropy; meaning, there's less disorder after the reaction than before it.

Analogy

Consider a messy room. If you spend time cleaning and organizing, the room becomes less chaotic (low entropy). This act of cleaning is like an endentropic reaction because it decreases disorder.

Related terms

Endothermic Reaction: A chemical reaction that absorbs heat from its surroundings.
