Coupled reactions are a pair of chemical reactions in which one provides the energy that drives the other.
Think of coupled reactions like a team relay race. The first runner (reaction) passes on the baton (energy) to the second runner, enabling them to complete their part of the race.
Exothermic Reaction: A reaction that releases heat into its surroundings.
Endothermic Reaction: A reaction that absorbs heat from its surroundings.
Energy Transfer: The process by which energy is relocated from one system to another, such as in coupled reactions.
