The independent variable is the variable in a mathematical equation or function that can be freely chosen or manipulated. It represents the input or cause of a relationship and is not affected by any other variables.
Think of the independent variable as the driver of a car. The driver has control over where they want to go and can choose their own path without being influenced by anyone else.
Dependent Variable: The dependent variable is the variable in a mathematical equation or function that represents the output or effect of a relationship. It depends on the value of the independent variable.
Function: A function is a relation between two sets, where each input (independent variable) corresponds to exactly one output (dependent variable).
Domain: The domain of a function refers to all possible values that can be used as inputs (independent variables) for that function.
