Definition

A geometric sequence is a sequence of numbers where each term after the first is found by multiplying the previous term by a constant called the common ratio.

Analogy

Imagine you have a jar of candies, and each day you take out twice as many candies as the previous day. The number of candies you have each day forms a geometric sequence.
