An equation is a mathematical statement that shows two expressions are equal. It contains variables, constants, and mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division.
A value or set of values that make an equation true when substituted into it.
Linear equation: An equation where the highest power of the variable is 1.
Quadratic equation: An equation where the highest power of the variable is 2.
