Definition

The endpoints are the two extreme points of a line segment or interval.

Analogy

Imagine you have a piece of string and you want to measure its length. The endpoints would be the very ends of the string where you start and stop measuring.

Interval: An interval is a set of real numbers between two given values, including those values.

Ray: A ray is a part of a line that has one endpoint and extends infinitely in one direction.
