Definition

The accumulation of distance refers to the total distance traveled by an object over a given time interval. It takes into account both positive and negative distances.

Analogy

Think of the accumulation of distance like keeping track of your steps throughout the day. If you take 10 steps forward and then 5 steps backward, your total accumulation of distance would be 5 steps forward.
