Definition
The tricuspid valve is a valve in the heart located between the right atrium and the right ventricle; it prevents the backflow of blood as it moves from the atrium to the ventricle. It consists of three flaps or cusps, which give it its name.
The right ventricle is a chamber in the heart that pumps deoxygenated blood received from the right atrium to the lungs for oxygenation.
Mitral Valve: The mitral valve is located between the left atrium and left ventricle; it controls blood flow from the left atrium to left ventricle, similar to how tricuspid valve operates on right side of heart but with two cusps
