Definition
The right colic flexure, also known as the hepatic flexure, is the sharp bend between the ascending colon and the transverse colon in the large intestine. It is located near the liver, hence its name "hepatic" flexure.
Ascending Colon: The part of the large intestine that travels upward from the cecum to the right colic flexure.
Transverse Colon: The longest section of the colon which extends horizontally across the abdomen from the right colic flexure to the left colic flexure.
