Definition

Renal pyramids are cone-shaped tissues found in the kidneys, composed primarily of tubules that transport urine from the outer part of the kidney (the cortex) to the inner parts (the calyces and renal pelvis). They are instrumental in the process of urine formation and its passage into the ureter.
